Scuttlebutt was, in the days of tall ships, the barrel on deck that held fresh drinking water for the crew, and consequently where they gathered to talk and share information. In today's Navy, the scuttlebutt is the trust bubbler, where one gets a drink of water. It has come to mean gossip, or news in today's jargon.

Team Tom Burke!

Our club had pledged more than $500 to Tom Burke’s team and their plunge into the icy Atlantic, this coming Saturday, February 11, 11:30 a.m., rain or shine at the Cape Ann Motor in on Long Beach, 33 Rockport Road, Gloucester! Put on a suit and join Tom’s team, or come on down and join the cheering section! This event will put one more nail in the Polio coffin!

For those of you who pledged, make checks payable to Rotary Club of Marblehead Harbor and put “Polar Plunge” in the memo, give to treasurer, president or mail to our P.O. Box 941, Marblehead MA 01945.

Pieces are being gathered for the Senior Emergency Grant! Date for the project itself will be announced soon!

Pen Pals! Please bring your letters Tuesday! The kids really count on hearing from us after we sign up to participate - don’t let them down!

We will have 3 representatives at the World Peace and Understanding Dinner tomorrow night: Rosaleen, Linda Doliber and Pam Nottingham will attend the wonderful annual event.

Tuesday’s Business Meeting will take a long look at club participation and strategies for the coming year. Please plan to be with us for this first important step in the next Rotary year.
