Why Rotary?
The Rotary Club of Marblehead Harbor is part of Rotary International, the world’s oldest service organization. Founded in 1905, Rotary now has over 1.2 million members in 200 countries around the world, committed to a single ideal, Service Above Self.
Rotary International is an association of individual clubs, with each club operating autonomously. Rotary attracts people from all walks of life who are drawn together by the opportunity for fellowship, service to their communities and participation in Rotary’s international humanitarian service initiatives.
Rotary has a long history of promoting peace and fostering global understanding by offering international scholarships and professional exchange programs. The Harbor Club also funds a permanent scholarship trust to help local students with college costs and providing non traditional students with support. We also participate in the Group Study Exchange program and host visitors from other parts of the world through Friends Forever.
We actively support the Rotary Foundation which exists to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty. The Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation supported solely by voluntary contributions from Rotarians and friends of the Foundation who share its vision of a better world.
Testimonials
I joined the Harbor Rotary Club because it meets once a week for breakfast, leaving the rest of my day free. It is a very comfortable group, very welcoming with a good mix of people.
- Emil Ronchi
I have been wanting to join Rotary for years but it is only now, having moved to Marblehead, that I could make that dream a reality. The Harbor Club provides the fellowship and service opportunities that I always wanted.
